Rybnikov Alexey

OSB sheets have long been used for interior decoration or for the construction of partitions, walls.

How to decorate OSB sheets with wallpaper

Before wallpapering OSB sheets, it is necessary to carry out several types of preparatory work on their surface. To do this, the sheets are cleaned and wiped well from dust.

Tip: If the OSB sheets are not covered with a protective layer of varnish, then it is not necessary to act on them with a damp rag.

so:

  • After cleaning, plaster is applied.
  • For such work, you need to use start and finish plasters.
  • They are applied in a similar manner.

For this use:

  • Capacity for mixing the solution.
  • Construction mixer.
  • Two spatulas (large and smaller).
  • Sandpaper.
  • Building level.

Work:

  • A grid for plastering is initially applied to the surface of the sheets. It is attached using a construction stapler. Then a layer of starting plaster is immediately applied to it, the evenness of which is checked by a construction stapler. After drying, the plaster is treated with sandpaper.

  • Finishing plaster is applied after the starting layer. You also need to check the construction level of the quality of the application of each layer. After drying, the finishing plaster, like the starting plaster, is processed with sandpaper.

Tip. The number of layers of starting and finishing plaster, as a rule, depends on the quality of the surface itself. For processing OSB sheets, several layers of the agent will be sufficient.

It will be mandatory to prime the surface with a primer. It is applied with brushes and rollers. The surface after such treatment should dry well.

Wallpapering

Wallpaper is glued onto the prepared surface rather quickly and simply. To do this, use special glue and brushes. The process is quite simple and you can do all the work yourself.

For work you will need:

  • Stationery knife.
  • Tape measure and pencil.
  • Scissors.
  • Foam roller for smoothing wallpapers.
  • Dry rags to remove excess glue.

If the wallpaper is non-woven or acrylic, then after applying glue to their surface, you need to give them a little time to lie down so that they are saturated with the product.
